Billy Miller, a Daytime Emmy-winning actor renowned for The Young and the Restless and General Hospital, died Friday in Texas aged 43.
On Sunday—the actor's 44th birthday—his management told Variety this devastating news. Miller died from manic depression, according to the statement.
Miller, born in Grand Prairie, Texas, on September 17, 1979, heroically battled tarsal coalition, a rare ankle cartilage disorder.
Miller entered the entertainment industry as a Wilhelmina model. He played Richie Novak in All My Children from 2007 to 2008.
Miller won three Daytime Emmys for his work on The Young and the Restless, including two for best supporting actor and lead actor. He left the soap drama in 2014 to pursue General Hospital.
Miller was a series regular on General Hospital until 2019, playing complicated characters Jason Morgan and Drew Cain. He played Marcus Specter in five Suits episodes.
Miller's acting abilities earned him roles in NCIS, The Rookie, Truth Be Told, Major Crimes, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Castle, and Enormous in addition to soap operas.
